Kitchen Organiser

How should I plan my internal kitchen organisation?

Think about the types of items you’ve got in your kitchen and how you can group them together, for example:

  • cleaning products and materials
  • recycling equipment
  • food preparation utensils
  • dried and tinned food
  • cooking equipment
  • eating utensils

The amount of storage you need for each type of item will depend on you – for example, you might not do much cleaning, but love cooking. Also consider your kitchen layout and where you’re going to use these groups of items.

Storage for food, pots and pans will be most useful close to your food preparation area and cooker. If your kitchen is sizeable, designate a place for the plates near the dining table, so you don’t have too far to carry them.

What types of internal kitchen organisers are available?

Once you’ve taken stock of what you’ve got, you can get your cupboards and drawers organised to accommodate it. There are lots of innovative and convenient storage solutions on the market. Boxes, cutlery trays, pull-out fittings and baskets are all included in our RATIONELL range.

What organisers can I use for my pots and pans?

For storing pots and using a corner space to its best advantage, try the swing-out  RATIONELL corner base cabinet or the RATIONELL wall corner cabinet carousel.

How can I organise my appliances and utensils?

Organise your kitchen drawers and cupboards by putting the things you use most at the front where they’re easy to reach, and relegating those seldom-touched appliances to the back or the top of cupboards. Be ruthless: if you only use that breadmaker once in a blue moon, don’t make life difficult for yourself by putting it in front of everyday appliances. Keep your cutlery and utensils under control with the RATIONELL cutlery tray and drawer dividers.

What about storing dry food, tins and vegetables?

Try organising your tins by types – different shelves for sweet and savoury, for example. And, for your cereals and dry food, check out our selection of jars and containers. To keep vegetables fresh and in one place, why not use the RATIONELL VARIERA vegetable box?

Finding flavourings is easier with the transparent RATIONELL VARIERA spice rack. Some people make the most of their spice racks by alphabetising their spices, but even if you think that’s taking tidiness a tad too far, dividing flavourings into herbs and spices will help you lay your hands on what you want faster.

How can I organise my recycling?

Separating and recycling your waste helps the environment – plus an increasing number of local authorities require it. So how to keep your kitchen tidy while you recycle? We’ve made recycling easy, doable and fun with the RATIONELL waste sorting system.
